VASCO: An unidentified man, aged around 30, was found dead aboard the Vailankanni Express at Vasco railway station on Thursday evening. The incident came to light around 5.16 pm after the Deputy Station Manager, Vasco, informed the railway police through a written memo that a male passenger was lying unconscious inside the train.
Vasco Railway Police rushed to the spot and found the man lying on his back. An on-duty doctor from South Western Railway examined him and declared him dead. During a preliminary enquiry, police found that the deceased appeared to be a passenger travelling on the train. Police suspect he may have died due to a sudden illness or other health-related condition. The exact cause of death will be determined through further medico-legal examination.
Police conducted the UD occurrence panchanama and inquest panchanama. The body was subsequently preserved at South Goa District Hospital, Margao, for further medico-legal formalities.
