Bakibab Borkar remembered
PONDA: Around thirteen poets from across Goa gathered in Borim to commemorate the death anniversary of noted writer Balakrishna Bhagwant Borkar, popularly known as Bakibab Borkar,
The poets presented poems at a function organised by Pragatik Vichar Manch from Borim in the Shree Gopalkrishna temple hall on Friday.
Poets, Baburao Patil, Hanumant Maujo, Prasad Sawant, Jayanti Desai, Sharmila Prabudesai, Avinash Jadhav, Sanjay Phadate, Nutan Dabholkar, Sunita Shah, Vinda Naik, Subhash Shah, Vinod Naik, Anjali Chitale and others recited several poems of Bakibab and also those penned by them.
A discussion on the literature of Bakibab Borkar was also conducted. Journalist Ramesh Vasker, former sarpanch of Borim Sunil Sawkar, president of Gopalkrishna temple Committee Shyam Naik and Laxman Naik were present.
