PONDA
The Gram Sabha presided by Sarpanch Nayan Naik was attended by eight other panchas along with newly elected co-opted member Prakash Parwar. Secretary Sushant Naik was also present.
Two minutes silence was observed to pay tributes to former chief minister Shashikala Kakodkar, who passed away on Friday.
One youth from Bandora raised the issue of sewerage plant, reportedly proposed to be setup in Undir-Bandora, and asked for the details during ‘any other business’(AOB). The panchas, however, told him that if he had asked the question in written form, then they would have given details as the file pertaining to the project was in the panchayat office.
The youth said he has received information through RTI and it’s not clear where exactly the project is coming up, as the department concerned has not mentioned the survey number.
It may be recalled that Ponda Municipal Council had initially objected to the sewerage project and laying of pipelines, but later gave consent after the project details were discussed.
The youth from Undir-Bandora demanded at the gram sabha that villagers should know details of the sewerage plant, upon which he was assured of the same. It was resolved to conduct inspection of a private hospital in the panchayat jurisdiction
to check whether it has disposal pit for used medical waste and syringes.
