“The Association will file a plea to appeal to the Supreme Court to revoke its order after discussing the issue with Advocate General of Goa,” said Carasco while speaking at the Association meeting organised at Madel-Tivim.
Carasco said the bar owners are confused over the order. “ There is confusion if the judgment has ordered only the wholesale wine shops to shut down or bars and restaurants are also included in the list. We will discuss the issue with the Advocate General of Goa and we will also discussed the issue with the legal advisors of the Association,” he added.
“We will see if the State government has interest to approach the Supreme Court for the betterment of bar owners, and if not then our Association will take a stand,” informed Carasco.
“According to this judgment, licenses of wine shops will be not renewed before March 31 and after April 1 all the wine shops will be removed from along the highways,” he said.
Association vice-president Deepak Mhadoshri and about 50 association members were present for the meeting.
