Sawal had resigned as Bicholim MLA to join MGP after the model code of conduct came into force.
Speaking to media persons after joining MGP, Sawal said, “Today many people are getting attracted towards MGP because they know this party has a future. People have seen the working of both Congress and BJP which are like two sides of the same coin. People had lot of expectations from BJP but they disappointed Goans.”
The former Bicholim MLA however batted for MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar as the next chief minister of the State.
“Today there is only one person who deserves to be the chief minister “ Sudin Dhavalikar and if we have to make him the CM, we have to elect maximum MGP candidates as MLAs. MGP is a regional party and as far as Bicholim constituency is concerned, 80 per cent of the people have taken the path to MGP. Within the next 2-3 days you will see BJP’s booth committees joining MGP,” he said.
