Appreciating the SSC results in Goa where students have excelled, Prof Girish Parwathmath, Principal of R N Shetty Polytechnic in Belagavi, has stated that the polytechnic will offer special scholarships to Goan students wishing to pursue their engineering diplomas in various streams.
He also stated that Kannada examination is not compulsory henceforth for the annual examinations.
He was speaking to The Goan about the R N Shetty Polytechnic which was established in 1986.
“R N Shetty Polytechnic has blossomed into an institution of excellence, imparting quality education. More than three decades have gone by and right since its inception, the institution has been the symbol of egalitarian approach. I am extremely pleased to say that the original purpose for which this college was established transcends time and evolution,” Prof Parwathmath said.
“We prioritise innovation, learning and research as they drive progress in the world. We encourage students to explore and pursue their own paths, fostering a culture of motivation for innovation and exploration. We greatly admire Goan students for their culture and ethics. Many Goan students choose to study at our college,” Prof. Parwathmath added.
The Polytechnic offers diplomas in electrical and electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and communication and computer science engineering.
Giving further details, Prof Parwathmath said the departments are well-equipped with abundant resources such as computers, libraries, machines, transformers and more.
“In addition to academic resources, we also offer cultural and sports facilities where students can showcase their talents and skills. We have a strong track record of placements, particularly in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering. Companies also visit our campus for placements in other branches of study,” aid Prof Parwathmath, while appealing to parents and students to rely on the institute for a brighter future.
