Bicholim police has registered a case against an unknown person on charges of duping a resident of Bicholim of Rs 4.68 lakh after promising him high returns from investments.
In a complaint, Milind Gore (58) stated that the accused had fraudulently contacted the complainant over phone by impersonating himself to be an employee of a forex trading
company and had induced him to make an investment with the company with a promise of high returns.
Gore said the accused thereafter deceived him to deliver an amount of Rs 4,68,775 into a Google Pay account on different occasions and further failed to deliver high returns and also stopped communication with him.
Bicholim police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 319 (1) and 318 (3) of BNS 2023 and is investigating the case.
