Trinamool Congress party vice-president Dr Jorson Fernandes has said the Supreme Court verdict cancelling the permission for the railway double-tracking project and also setting aside the clearance granted for the project is a double victory for the true and genuine Goan environmentalists.
“It’s a big victory for Goa and Goa’s environment as the project of doubling the railway line between Tinaighat “ Castlerock in Karnataka and Kulem in Goa would only destroy the fragile eco-system of Western Ghats,” he said.
