CANACONA
A 51-year-old man from Bihar, who was injured in a fall in Xeller, Canacona, died while undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital in Karwar on Tuesday. According to Canacona police, Laxman Chauhan fell to the ground while working at a site in Xeller, Canacona. He suffered an injury to his left leg and was shifted to the Civil Hospital in Karwar for treatment on June 11. He died on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.
The body was sent for a post-mortem examination. Police said the exact cause of death has been kept pending until the histopathology report is received. The body was later handed over to the family for the last rites.
As the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Canacona Police Station, police registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Ramdas Doifode of Canacona Police Station.
