A 33-year-old man from Bihar has been arrested by a team of the Crime Branch (CB), for allegedly possessing suspected ganja.
In a raid conducted near a kiosk at Birla cross junction, Verna on Tuesday night, the officials apprehended the man, who identified himself as Jitendra Mahto, with 310 gms of suspected ganja. The contraband, which is worth Rs 35,000 in the international market, was concealed in a polythene bag. The CB said the alleged peddler was waiting for his prospective customer when he was caught red-handed. He is being interrogated to know the source of the drugs and other persons involved in the menace.
