MARGAO
South Goa District Magistrate Srinet Kothwale has prohibited the entry of the leader of Sri Ram Sene, Pramod Mutalik and any of his associates or members within the jurisdiction of South Goa District, Goa for a period of 60 days with effect from September 30.
The order has been issued under Section 144 of the CrPC.
The ban on Mutalik has been imposed based on a report by the Superintendent of Police South Goa dated September 27, 2022, stating that fear of disturbance of the communal peace and harmony in the State is not ruled out in case of the entry of Mutalik, a resident of Belagavi, and his member associates in the district.
The police report has further apprehended that his communal speeches will promote enmity among various religious communities and will be prejudicial to the maintenance of harmony, public peace and safety.
