Biodegradable bags distributed in plastic-free drive

Under the Model Margao initiative led by Yogiraj Digambar Kamat, in partnership with the Samraat Club Margao, the Plastic-Free Margao drive was successfully conducted at the Margao Municipal Market.  

The event marked a significant step towards reducing plastic pollution and encouraging environmentally sustainable practices. As part of the campaign, 100% biodegradable and compostable carry bags were distributed, promoting eco-friendly alternatives to single-use plastics.  

Expressing gratitude, the organisers thanked the Samraat Club Margao and all participants who contributed to the event’s success.  

“This is a big step towards creating a cleaner and greener Margao,” said an official statement. The organisers aim to continue similar efforts to establish Margao as a model city for sustainable living.
