PONDA
Ponda Police have arrested Kishan Sangaonkar (53) from Usgao and his son Kunal Sangaonkar for assaulting a mechanic, Ashokkumar Babaji Seti (55), after an argument over Rs 500 for a paint job.
Kishan Sangaonkar had brought a tempo from Margao to Usgao to get it painted at Seti’s garage. The agreed price for the paint job was Rs 5,000. On Sunday evening, Kishan paid the mechanic only Rs 4,500, leading to an argument when Seti demanded the remaining Rs 500.
Kunal, who was at Tisk-Usgao, received a call from his father explaining that Seti was insisting on the extra Rs 500. Angry over the matter, Kunal rushed to the garage, picked up an iron rod lying there, and allegedly hit Seti on the head.
Seti suffered serious injuries and was first taken to Piliem Primary Health Centre. He was later transferred to GMC Hospital in Bambolim for further treatment.
The Ponda Police arrested both Kishan and Kunal in connection with the incident, and a court has remanded them to seven days in police custody. Ponda Police Inspector Vijaynath Kavlekar is handling the investigation.
