BJP back stabbed me after Lok Sabha elections: Khaunte
PORVORIM: Accusing the BJP government of backstabbing him after the Lok Sabha elections, Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said he overcame all odds to fulfill most of the assurances given during the 2012 assembly elections.
Speaking at a meeting at Porvorim, Khaunte said he had received cooperation from the BJP till the Lok Sabha election in 2014.
“I did support BJP candidate Shripad Naik and did my best to ensure that he gets maximum votes from Porvorim constituency. However, once the election was over and Shripad Naik was elected, BJP stopped financing development projects in Porvorim constituency.”
“Even projects like multi-purpose sports complex at Socorro, market complex at Alto Betim and Service road came to a grinding halt,” said Khaunte.
“Projects like multipurpose sports complex at Socorro and market complex at Porvorim could not be completed due to non-payment of bills by the State government. As soon as the new government is formed, I will ensure that these pending projects are completed within one year,” he assured.
