BJP Block to install 4,000 flags in Vasco constituency

VASCO

The Vasco BJP Mandal has plans to install 4,000 national flags to be hoisted at houses, shops, institutions and other organisations in the Vasco constituency, as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative.

Addressing a news conference, Vasco Mandal president Deepak Naik said the Prabhat Feri would be organised with the national flag in various schools of Vasco with students and BJP Karyakartas.

"We will also try to install a flag in everyone's house from August 13-15 and we have already received the stock of flags. We have established sale counters at four locations where flags will be sold at Rs 25 for people who want to hoist the flag themselves at their houses.

“The flags will be available at the MLA’s office, Mandal office, Yuva Morcha office at Varunapuri and New Vaddem. We also have three ward leaders in every ward who will try to reach out to all the houses and try to install flags.”

“We will also have a bike rally with the national flag (August 13) and Mashaal Yatra from Hutatma Chowk to Railway station (August 14). All our Karyakartas will visit houses with flags and conduct programmes on August 15, besides the main flag hoisting organised by Deputy Collector, flag hoisting by MMC and flag hoisting at the railway station in Vasco," said Naik.

Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar said Vasco would receive maximum public participation for the one of its kind "Har Ghar Tiranga" initiative.

"We request people to have the flag hoisted by the children in the house and also click a selfie if possible because it will be the same child who will get a great sense of pride and patriotism after 25 years when we celebrate 100 years of Independence," said Salkar.

Salkar also requested people not to use plastic flags but instead buy the flags available at the sale counters.

"We have seen several times that some people install flags on Independence day but the next day it is found on the ground and we must take care that this does not happen. We must take care of the flag when we hoist it and after we remove the flag post the Independence Day," said Salkar.

BJP State executive member Jayant Jadhav said that besides the four sale counters, flags would be available at the Ravindra Bhavan, collector’s office, mamlatdar office and post office.
