MARGAO
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra ' sabka saath sabka vikas sabka vishwas' resonated at the Margao railway station on Tuesday as BJP leaders and MLAs welcomed Haj pilgrims returning home from Mecca in Saudi Arabia.
That’s not all. In a symbolic gesture underscoring the party’s commitment to inclusivity, party leaders sent a message loud and clear that the BJP does not discriminate people on the basis on religion. The leaders reminded how the BJP government headed by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, had organised the 2024 exposition of the relics of St Francis Xavier and the government’s all out support for the Muslim community for a safe Haj pilgrimage.
Welcoming the Hajis at the Margao railway station, State BJP President Damu Naik said the party truly believes in 'sabka saath sabka vikas sabka vishwas', saying the party had made all out efforts for a safe and successful Haj pilgrimage. “Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had personally taken interest and was coordinating with Chairman of Goa Haj Committee Urfan Mulla to ensure a safe pilgrimage”, he said.
He added; “The BJP government had earned laurels for the conduct of the St Francis Xavier exposition for the organisation and management of the religious event. The BJP does not discriminate against any one base on religion”.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat echoed similar sentiments saying that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had taken personal interest for the smooth conduct of the Exposition as well as the Haj pilgrimage. “Lakhs of devotees had visited the Exposition and the religious event was conducted in a smooth manner”, Kamat recalled.
Vasco MLA Krishna Daji Salkar, while welcoming the Hajis, expressed happiness that all the Hajis have returned home without any problems, even as he reiterated his government’s commitment to take all people together in the path of development.
