BJP should submit docs to support its plaint: Girish

Congress Panaji by-poll candidate Girish Chodankar has asked the BJP to submit documents as evidence to support its claims that several Congress workers outraged the modesty of a female corporator on August 23 when Panaji went to polls.

He was speaking about the two incidents reported in Panaji on Wednesday involving former Panaji BJP MLA Siddharth Kuncalienkar.
Speaking to the media at Congress House, Chodankar stated, "BJP should submit the documents it claims to possess. We have not done anything wrong and are open to scrutiny. But while the police probe BJP's counter-complaint, which bears no truth, they should also act on our complaint." Chodankar informed that several members of the party named by BJP's Sheetal Dattaprasad Naik in her complaint have been asked to remain present at Panaji Police station for recording of statement.
He has also urged the Election Commission to deliver justice in this concern by remaining neutral and by creating a fair, level playing field for all.
"What Kuncalienkar has done on polling day to Congress and Goa Suraksha Manch party members is not a small offence and is highly objectionable," Chodankar sought to point out.
