The BJP State Executive meeting will be held in Vasco on Sunday and will have around 170 BJP delegates in attendance.
Mormugao BJP legislators, Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, Vasco MLA Krishna Salkar and Mormugao MLA Sankalp Amonkar along with other party leaders addressed a news conference on Friday evening to highlight the programmes chalked out for the state executive meeting.
“It is a historic moment for Mormugao because this is for the first time that the State BJP executive meeting is being held in Vasco, as it was previously held only in the capital city of Panaji,” said Godinho.
"We usually have the BJP State Executive meeting after the national executive meeting and it will be held in Vasco this time. We will have 170 delegates participating. We will have deliberations on various important issues and chalk out the next programmes and take political and economic resolution for the benefit of the people.”
Vasco Mandal President Deepak Naik, Mormugao BJP Mandal President Sanjay Satardekar, Dabolim Mandal President Sanjay Sood and Observer Jayant Jadhav were also present at the news conference.
Want to promote locals in MSME sector: Min
VASCO: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho on Friday evening said he has plans to give a new push to young entrepreneurs by involving locals to expand their presence in the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.
Godinho also said he will take steps to expedite the Vasco Bus stand project.
"I want to expand the MSME sector by involving locals and I have met the Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) and Navy and other organisations as well. The GSL CMD has said they will conduct a seminar to show people what they can make and how many idle shipyards can be used to make blocks of ships that are being constructed in GSL.”
The minister said he will push for a garbage plant in Verna and a new garbage treatment plant in Chicalim panchayat within a few months, where wet waste will be used to generate electricity and dry garbage will be taken by the Goa State Pollution Control Board.
“I have met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari during the national executive meeting and I will meet him again to expedite the Vasco bus stand project," said Godinho.
