BJP will take decision on Priol candidature: Parrikar

PONDA

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said BJP will take a right decision on the candidature in Priol constituency and would see to it that MGP candidate does not win.

He was speaking at a meeting organised at Mardol on Friday, where the BJP leadership did not announce who would be their candidate in Priol and whether they will support non-party candidate.

“We will win 26 seats in the assembly election and form the government,” said Parrikar and criticised MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar.

Speaking at the meeting, Union AYUSH Minister Shripad Naik said BJP will decide on their candidate for Priol in next two days.

South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar, former Speaker Vishwas Satarkar, BJP general secretary Sadanand Tanavade, BJP State president Vinay Tendulkar, Priol BJP block president Shivaji Gawde and Satish Madkaikar were present.

It may be recalled that BJP had offered the ticket to Independent candidate, Govind Gawde provided he joins the party. However, Gawde refused and made clear that he would contest as an independent candidate.
