The Bharatiya Janata Party-backed panel on Monday won the Goa University students council elections.
Anisha Shenvi Desai has been appointed as the chairperson, Namesh Telang is appointed as the secretary. The members are “ Pooja Almeida, Amogh Barve, Narsivarao Chavan, Tushar Korgaonkar, Gunaji Mandrekar and Swapnil Naik.
Speaking after winning the elections, Chairperson Anisha Desai said that the council will stress on promoting sports and cultural activities. She also promised to solve the ongoing problem of transportation face by the University students.
Meanwhile, BJP’s Goa State Students Convener Sanket Arsekar said that this year’s council will focus on issues like safety of girls, digital literacy for present generation, revaluation and fee-structure in specific, and other issues faced by the student community.
