As Goa State BJP President Damu Naik on Tuesday asserted that a tie-up between BJP and Goa Forward would depend on the prevailing political situation in the State, Goa Forward chief Vijai Sardesai has blamed certain forces for spreading sponsored stories and planted questions about a BJP-GFP tie-up to create confusion among Goans.

The BJP State president said if there is any tie-up between the two parties after the 2027 Assembly election, the same would depend on the prevailing political situation. “The BJP is clear that the party will win 30 seats in 2027. I cannot say today whether there’s a tie-up between the BJP and Goa Forward party after the 2027 election,” he told the media.

He added: “Politics depends on the prevailing situation. What will happen in the future cannot be decided today in politics.”

Sardesai, however, immediately hit back saying that since the monsoon has arrived, and so have the frogs croaking in chorus. “Are sponsored stories and planted questions about a BJP-GFP tie-up being spread to create confusion among Goans,” he questioned.

He added: “Real Goemkars are not fools. Can a party that has consistently opposed 39-A, the destructive coal corridor, environmental disasters, job scams and the most corrupt government in the history of Goa, suddenly shake hands with the very BJP responsible for these anti-people decisions.”

While making a plea to the people of Goa not to fall prey to these political joint ventures and manufactured narratives, Sardesai said that Goa deserves honesty, not propaganda.

The narrative about the BJP-Goa Forward narrative assumes significance and comes against the backdrop of Sardesai dropping clear hints that the regional party is not averse in going alone in 2027 by fielding candidates in almost all the 40 constituencies.
