Body of man who jumped into Zuari river recovered Navy officials venturing into the Zuari river during search operations.

The body of 40-year-old Sammy Fernandes, who reportedly jumped into the Zuari river from the Sanvordem bridge on Saturday, April 4, was recovered on Sunday following an extensive search operation involving police, navy, and fire personnel. The incident had sparked a large-scale search along the river stretch near Sanvordem. Fire and emergency services personnel, police, navy divers, and local volunteers had been engaged in continuous efforts to locate Fernandes.   

The body was eventually spotted floating in the river and recovered by rescue teams. It has been sent for post-mortem examination.   

Police have registered an unnatural death case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
