A brawl between two carpenters near the Majorda railway station has ended in a murder.
The Colva police has managed to nab the accused hailing from West Bengal within 12 hours. The incident occurred late Friday night after the Colva police received a call informing of a fight near the Majorda railway station.
When Colva LPSI Kavita Rawat and Robot 57 staff visited the spot, they found an injured person, who was shifted to Hospicio hospital, Margao. However, the injured person was declared dead at casualty of Hospicio by medical officer on duty.
The police recorded the detailed complaint of the brother of deceased namely Gopal, s/o Ravindranath Sharma, aged 33 years, occupation carpenter, a native of village Bangalji PS-Chapda District-Nodia West Bengal and registered an offence under Sec 302 IPC for murder.
The police stated that prior to the incident, accused namely Subhankar Jana r/o c/o Pitu Majorda Salcete Goa, n/o Chikanpara North 24 Parganas West Bengal assaulted the complainant’s brother Sufal, s/o Rabindranath Sharma, aged 29 years, occupation carpenter, native of village-Bangalji PS-Chapda District-Nodia West Bengal with some objects resulting into his death.
Both the accused and deceased person were working at a furniture workshop at Majorda belonging to a local villager.
A man hunt launched by the Colva Police finally resulted in the arrest of the 22-year old accused Subhankar, s/o Sabbath Jana, native of Parganas, West Bengal.
