Budget lays roadmap for next 25 yrs: Goa CII

Terming it a budget which addresses growth imperatives without compromising fiscal prudence, the  Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Goa council said it lays a roadmap to prepare the State for next 25 years.

“CII Goa welcomes the State budget for 2023-2024 which addresses the growth imperatives without compromising on the fiscal prudence path,” a statement issued by CII Goa council chairman Anirudh Agarwal, said.

Agarwal in his statement noted that the budget proposes a slew of measures focussing on infra development, green growth, tourism boost and urban development, with no additional tax burden.

The CII-Goa chief also made mention of the budget’s increased allocations for health, education and public works and resumption of mining, even as he added that it was a bold attempt to invigorate the critical demand drivers of consumption and investment. 

“The move to promote electric vehicles and attract investment in renewable and green energy sector would go a long way in generating more jobs in the State,” Agarwal said, adding that it was assuring that a special task force has been formed to control revenue leakages.

The government should also earnestly consider implementing ‘Ease of Doing Business’ across departments to facilitate industry, he added.
