PANAJI: Traditional fishermen of Caranzalem rejoiced over a bumper start to their first ramponn of the season on Tuesday, with fisherfolk bringing in a massive haul of fish.
Fish vendors, fishermen and buyers gathered at the Caranzalem shore on Tuesday to collect and purchase the fresh catch. Vendors expressed happiness over the good beginning to the fishing season “We are very happy that we are commencing our business and pray to Almighty God for a successful business,” said a fish vendor.
The fish sale begins at the shore, with locals and buyers flocking to purchase fresh fish. The remaining catch is later taken to markets for sale. The Ramponn will continue for the next three days, with fishermen hoping for an even bigger catch.
