Burglars broke into a dental clinic and a grocery shop and decamped with cash, dental implants, and instruments at Palolem.
According to Canacona police, burglars broke into the dental clinic of Dr Rosemond Luciano, a resident of Velim, by breaking open the shutter locks of the shops sometime between 4 pm on October 19 and 9.45 am on October 21 at Palolem Dental Clinic, Palolem.
A dental implant box containing dental implants, abutments, bone grafts, and collagen membranes, one physio dispenser along with implant instruments, one endo motor, and cash of Rs 20,000 were stolen from the dental clinic.
According to sources, the burglars also targeted an adjacent grocery shop and stole cash of Rs 70,000 from the shop.
The shop owner stated that the previous day’s Diwali sale amount was kept in the shop, and the burglary came to light when he came to open the shop on Tuesday morning.
According to the shop owner, two persons were captured on CCTV footage the previous night, and police, besides getting the forensic team, also brought a sniffer dog as part of the investigation.
Canacona police have registered an offence against unknown persons under Sections 331(3), 331(4), and 305 of the BNS 2023, and further investigation is being carried out by Canacona PSI Ajit Velip.
