A meeting of Goa cabinet is slated to be held at the private residence of CM Manohar Parrikar at 5 pm on Thursday, the second to be held.
Cabinet sources said, no agenda has been circulated among the ministers until late on Wednesday evening but a number of “table items” are expected to come up for discussions and passage. Individual ministers can bring up any issue pertaining to the portfolios they hold and it is not necessary that the cabinet note or agenda be circulated in advance, the cabinet source added.
Thursday’s cabinet meeting comes close on the heels of ailing Parrikar’s hands-on engagement with official duty since his confinement to his private residence due to his battle with advanced pancreatic cancer on his return from AIIMS Delhi in mid-October.
On Sunday, Parrikar sprung a surprise by venturing out of his Dona Paula residence to conduct brief site visits at the under-construction Mandovi and Zuari bridges. He followed it up by holding meetings on Monday with bureaucrats where several pending promotions and recruitment processes were given the final nod.
On Wednesday, however, Parrikar skipped the Goa Liberation Day function.
