Cabral clarified the doubts of the residents and explained the functioning of Saligao SWTP and assured the locals that no stink or garbage spill would be witnessed in Curchorem, as high-end technology would be used to solve the garbage issue.
When asked about the outcome of the special trip to the SWTP at Saligao, Cabral said: “The special trip was organised to provide detailed information about the operation and functioning of the SWTP, which is also being set up in Curchorem.”
“I had invited everyone from Curchorem who were curious about this
new SWTP. About 250
visited the plant and were very attentive.”
“Some raised doubts that while transporting solid waste from other places to the new treatment plant, there are chances of spillage of waste and air pollution. I assured them special vehicles with advanced technology will be used for waste transportation which will be air tight,” he said.
