Cacra fishermen raise dept’s failure to collect welfare corpus

PANAJI

Traditional fishermen from Cacra village on the northern banks of the Zuari river are upset with the Fisheries Department alleging that it has failed to collect contributions into the Corpus Fund for the benefit of non-motorised fishermen.

Discontent is brewing among the community in the fishing hamlet at Cacra many of who are upset with the department for overlooking their welfare.

They have sought the intervention of the minister concerned to fix responsibility for the lapse and to immediately make amends to revive the Corpus.
