MARGAO
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has not stopped saying the February 6 Vikasit Bharat rally at the Margao KTC bus stand is a government-hosted program, even extending an open invitation for Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, Goa Forward Chief Vijai Sardesai, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha to name a few to attend the programme to be presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
No doubt, the Vikasit Bharat rally is a government-hosted programme, but party leaders and workers are working overtime in their respective areas to mobilize thousands of people for the rally.
State BJP Chief, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Tanavade made no bones of the fact that party workers are on the job to make the February 6 Viksit Bharat rally a big success.
In the twin constituencies of Margao and Fatorda, which are playing host to the Viksit Bharat rally, Cong-turned-BJP MLA Digambar Kamat and former Fatorda BJP MLA Damu Naik are working on the ground for the mobilization of workers for the rally.
In fact, both Digambar and Damu separately told the media on Sunday that each of them will be mobilizing around 4000-odd workers for the February 6 rally at the KTC bus stand.
If the Margao MLA is in touch with his aide and workers to ensure that they descend for the rally on Tuesday, Damu Naik has been moving door to door across Fatorda with the agenda of mobilizing around 4000-5000 people from the constituency for the rally.
