An offence has been registered against the owner and the manager of the Sea Breeze Resort on charges of acting in a rash and negligent manner, thereby causing death of girl due to drowning, police said.
Police had initially registered the incident as unnatural death and but after an inquiry, it was found that the hotel owner and the manager had failed to provide adequate safety measures and lifeguard to the deceased girl and other children in the swimming pool.
It may be recalled on Thursday a 4-year-old girl drowned in the swimming pool of a resort in Calangute on Thursday afternoon. The deceased girl had come along with her parents and other family members to Goa for a vacation. The minor girl entered into the swimming pool behind her parents’ back and eventually drowned.
