Call to make Covid tests mandatory for next 6 months

VASCO
The Goa United Workmen Union (GUWU) has demanded that RT-PCR tests be mandatory for the next six months for those entering the State on account of the third wave which is expected to hit Goa.

In a press note, GUWU President Olencio Simoes said a lockdown should be extended further until Covid completely subsides in Goa as many employees, workers, etc. have been losing their lives.

“Relaxing restrictions for passengers entering our State will cause further catastrophe during the third wave. If former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar could impose an “Entry Tax” for outside vehicles, why is the State government shying away from making PCR tests mandatory,” asked Simoes.

“This government has been voted by the people for good governance but sadly it is the high court which has swung into action to save Goa from major devastation, which has clearly exposed the failure of leadership in Goa,” he added.
