Call to replace old power cable
BICHOLIM: A live wire from an electricity pole snapped and fell on the road at Varchawada-Sarvan, Bicholim.
There were no casualties when the incident took place, but angry locals have demanded the immediate replacement of the old electricity cables.
The electricity department swung into action as soon as the live wire snapped and shut down power supply in the area to avoid any casualty. The linesmen then replaced the faulty wire.
Residents in the area have demanded the replacement of old and faulty electricity cables and feeders in Sarvan village.
“We want the government to replace all old and faulty electricity wires, feeders and conductors, to avoid such incidents in future,” stated a local, Tukaram Sawant.
