The gram sabha of the village panchayats of Camurlim and Chandor on Sunday gave their nod for the annual budget estimates for the 2025-26 financial year.
At the gram sabha of the Camurlim village panchayat, Sarpanch Basil Fernandes placed the budget estimates and also laid the audit report before the gram sabha.
The sarpanch informed that the panchayat has made a provision to purchase an additional composter for the treatment of wet waste with the existing unit reaching a point of saturation.
At the Chandor gram sabha meeting, Sapranch Babazino Fiel Dias presented the budget estimates for the coming financial year. While the budget estimates were approved by the gram sabha, members told the sarpanch to place the audit report at the next gram sabha.
The budget estimates for the Chandor village make a provision for stands and changing room for the village playground.
The Chandor gram sabha generated much heat after members questioned the decision of the Panchayat for not taking their developmental proposals at the meeting.
After much discussion, it was decided to hold a special gram sabha to discuss the developmental proposals.
