The Camurlim panchayat has rejected a multi-dwelling housing project comprising of 15 flats on a host of grounds, including the main ground that the project site lacks six-metre wide road.
The file was placed before the gram sabha meeting held on Sunday wherein Sarpanch Elvis Dias explained the panchayat decision of rejecting the multi-dwelling project.
The sarpanch later told the media that the panchayat has rejected the multi-dwelling housing project comprising of 15 flats on the ground that the project site has no six-metre wide road. “The TCP had cleared the project by showing a six-metre road on the ground. However, the inspection carried out by the panchayat showed that the width of the road is below five metres,” he said.
The sarpanch further pointed out Camurlim village had settled for 60 per cent FAR in the Regional Plan. He, however, added that the project proponent was given 80 per cent FAR by the Town and Country Planning Department for reasons best known.
This is the second multi-dwelling housing project rejected by the Camurlim village panchayat.
