Two groups of Canconcars are preparing to celebrate the historic opening and Idol installation ceremony of Ram Temple at Ayodhya on January 22.
Extending an invitation to all Canconcars to be part of celebrations of the occasion, Sanghatit Canconcars alongwith various devasthan heads have stated that a non-political Dindi Padhyatra will be taken on that day and 2000 diyas will be lighted to celebrate the Diwali at Shri Mallikarjun Temple, Shristhal.
In a separate public appeal, a joint meeting of all Hindu Devasthan Committees will be held on January 16 at 11:00 AM at Shristhal Panchayat Hall, Shristhal over the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtapana ceremony to be held at Ayodhya on January 22.
Canacona MLA and Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Ramesh Tawadkar will address this meeting to be attended by all Ram devotees of Canacona Taluka, Presidents of All Temples Committees and Committee Members, RSS (Canacona Branch), Vishwa Hindu Parishad Canacona, BJP Mandal Canacona, BJP Mahila Morcha Canacona, BJP Yuva Morcha Canacona, Canacona Municipal Councill Chairperson and Councillors, Sarpanch and Panch members of all Panchayats in Canacona.
Interestingly, Sanghatit Canconcars while addressing a press meet on Monday, informed that a non-political padhyatra with dindi will be taken from KTC Bus-Stand, Chaudi to Shri Mallikarjun Temple, Shristhal on January 22 evening.
With Ram pravachan, the Padhyatra will begin at 4 pm from Shivsmarak, KTC Bus-Stand with Dindi by Devkipurush Mandal and proceed upto Shri Mallikarjun Devasthan, on reaching Vodamoll (Shristhal) the procession will be joined by Shri Mallikarjun Gazni mandal and on reaching Shri Mallikarjun Devasthan, 2000 diyas will be lighted to celebrate Diwali to mark the historic occasion of Prabhu Ram Pratishtapana, informed Sanghatit Convenor Pankaj Naik Gaonkar.
Naikgaunkar said that being a Monday, puja will be held at Shri Mallikarjun temple, and 2000 diyas will be lit at the temple premises and Diwali will be celebrated and also prasad will be distributed to all. Arrangements are also made for food at Shri Mallikarjun Temple.
Pankaj said, "This programme belongs to everyone in Canacona and doesn’t belong to any political party or otherwise. Let's all come and join us and participate in unison to celebrate this Diwali and show Canaconcars unity."
On the occasion, Shree Mallikarjun Devalaya “Treasurer Sachin Dessai, Devkipurush Gajni Mandal “President Ramakant , Vithal Rukmai Varkari Samrudhai-Dharmendra Pagi, Vithal Rukmai Devasthan President Ratnakar Dhuri , Vice-President Ashok Dhuri, Sangatit Cankonkars Sanju Dessai, Prashant Dessai, Nandip Bhagat, Navjyot and Sanju Pagi were present.
