CANACONA
Canacona police detained a man for allegedly using his mobile phone to video film a woman bathing at a house in Canacona municipality on Sunday night.
The man reportedly living in a neighbouring area, is suspected of having sneaked into the rear of a house, where an elderly couple resides, while the woman was in the bathroom.
The man was allegedly video recording on his mobile, when the woman became suspicious of some movement through the ventilator and reportedly alerted her husband.
Suspecting someone’s presence at the back of their bungalow and behind the bathroom, the elderly couple called up police and reported the matter.
By the time a the police team reached the house, the suspect had fled from the area.
In the meantime, police reportedly collected the CCTV footage from the bungalow and surrounding areas and identified a man living in the neighbourhood.
The man was later tracked and taken to the Canacona police station.
According to police sources, the accused reportedly denied having video filmed the woman while bathing, but police are verifying the matter.
