
Tribal Welfare Minister Ramesh Tawadkar on Friday announced a job roadmap and job training centre in Canacona.
Tawadkar was speaking after launching the construction of drainage at Agas -Loliem at a cost of Rs 40 lakh and other development projects in Canacona constituency.
“Bringing in development works and completing infrastructure developments is not an issue, but we have turned our focus on human development and as part of human development (happiness and satisfaction), a team from Delhi has been invited to discuss as to how to generate human development,” said Tawadkar.
“This may take 6 months or even 2-3 years to prepare the roadmap and may take up to 10 years for the results. Besides, we will also open a Staff Selection Permanent Coaching Centre in Canacona to train candidates to approach for staff selection process.”
“From April 15, we will start the Police Barthi Prashisan Kendra offering 1-month and 3-month courses. Candidates can complete the 3-month course and apply for any posts in Staff Selection process, including GPSC and others posts.”
The minister said women will also be trained to make Kunbi sarees with a monthly stipend of up to Rs 15,000 for a year.
Poinguinim ZP member Ajit (Ajay) Lolienkar, Loliem-Polem Sarpanch A C Nisha Chari, and most panch members, including ex-sarpanchas Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, Sachin Naik, Pratiza Bandekar, were present on the occasion.
