Mobile phone stolen from train passenger at Kulem

A passenger travelling on the Amravati Express fell victim to theft after his mobile phone was stolen during the journey at Kulem railway station.

The incident occurred on March 19 at around 9 am when Goutom Kumar Sarkar of Bogura, Bangladesh, was travelling along with his wife from Margao to Shalimar.

During the journey, an unknown accused allegedly stole his mobile phone worth about Rs 24,000 from the train while it was at Kulem railway station.

Following the complaint, Vasco Railway Police registered an offence under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Krishna Talpi of Vasco Railway Police Station under the supervision of PI Amarnath Passi and guidance of Mormugao DySP Gurudas Kadam.
