In a recent operation, Canacona police conducted raids at three locations near Tirval-Poinguinim, just 500 meters from the Karnataka border, uncovering illegal liquor storage facilities.
The crackdown resulted in the detention of eight persons, comprising four owners and four traffickers from Karnataka.
The joint efforts of SDPO Canacona Dy SP Tika Singh and Canacona PI Chandrakant Gawas led to the seizure of over Rs 5 lakh worth of various Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) brands.
The illicit liquor storage sites were found to be in clear violation of the law.
