GALF begins on Feb 15

Literature and art lovers are in for a treat from Thursday when curtains will be raised on the twelfth edition of the Goa Arts and Literature Festival at the International Centre Goa at Dona Paula.

The two-day affair will be inaugurated at 5.30 pm at the ICG Laran Lawn by Poet and novelist, Mamang Dai, a Padma Shree awardee. Sagar Naik Mule will unveil the GALF Artwork and there will be a poetry recitation session by Meena Kandasamy.

Goa's own literary giant, Damodar Mauzo, will have his book 'Boy, Unloved' launched. It is translated by Mumbai-based author of Goan origin Jerry Pinto and the duo will be in conversation with Vinutha Mallya.

Entry to the GALF is free for the general public on a first-come-first-serve basis, the organisers said.

CANACONAThe villages of Loliem, Agonda and Khola in Canacona taluka will face a power outage due to urgent line maintenance works by the electricity department.According to a public notice issued by Assistant Engineer (A&M) of Canacona Electricity office, the 11 KV Agonda Feeder will be shutdown for line maintenance works on Friday (February 16) from 9 am to 2 pm.
