A driver from Usgao was injured when the car he was driving rammed into an iron fence at Housing Board in Curti following heavy rains in the area.
Traffic along the Borim-Ponda route was also disrupted when a tree fell on the main road in Dhavali.
The 20-year-old driver was driving a car towards Farmagudi, when he lost control of the vehicle in the heavy rain and the car crashed into an iron fence.
He was trapped inside the car and had to be rescued by a Ponda fire brigade. He was later shifted to the Sub-District hospital at Ponda, before being shifted to the GMS hospital at Bambolim.
At Dhavali, traffic was disrupted when a tree fell on the road on Sunday morning. There were no vehicles moving at the time of the incident.
Rainwater washed away the soil near the Bethora junction, exposing underground power lines. Locals alerted the electricity department on Sunday afternoon and a team of engineers inspected the area.
At Khandepar, the road was partially blocked when a tree fell on the side of the road. A Ponda fire brigade later cleared the tree.
Another tree fell on the road in Kavale late Saturday night.
