A car fatally knocked down a 30-year-old pedestrian at Upasnagar-Sancoale on Thursday evening.
According to sources, the deceased, identified as Kusnood Alam Shamsuddin Niyam (30), was crossing the road at Upasnagar along the Verna highway.
The deceased was a resident of housing board colony in Upasnagar, but a native of Bihar, and was a JCB operator by profession.
Sources said Niyam was returning home after work when he was hit by a car along the highway at about 6.30 pm and he died on the spot.
Verna police have registered a case and are investigating the
matter.
