“I will direct the member secretary to inspect the site and submit a report,” said Almeida, when brought to his notice about the GTDC structures at Baina beach.
Reacting to claims that GCZMA had been unclear in its NOC if the permission was permanent or temporary and if the beautification permitted was on the seaward or landward side, Almeida replied: “I will go through the file and accordingly address the questions.”
Meanwhile, the MMC did not inspect the GTDC structures on Wednesday, despite having assured to do so.
Asked if he had inspected the site along with the municipal engineer on Wednesday, MMC Chairperson Deepak Naik said: “I was busy with other official work and will conduct the inspection in a day or two.”
Locals and fishermen have come out very strongly against the structures.
