Carmona Sarpanch Allwyn Jorge has informed that the panchayat has received more than 150 complaints in respect of non-functional LED streetlights and 15-odd cases regarding water supply issues at the end of its Public Grievance Fortnight.
The Sarpanch said that the list of non-functional streetlights has been already forwarded to the Assistant Engineer, Benaulim sub-division, for necessary action.
He said the electricity department has already started the repair and replacement of defective lights in two wards and rest will be taken up in the near future. Grievances related to water will be forwarded to the PWD soon, he added.
The Sarpanch said the PWD has also been asked to re-commission the overhead water storage tank as per gram sabha demand to bolster pressure in neighbouring areas.
The office will be maintaining a public grievance file 24x7 for recording grievances always, Jorge added.
