The Catechetical Apostolate of St Thomas church Aldona organized its Annual catechetical day with a solemn Eucharistic celebration. A variety entertainment programme was held in the evening which consisted of a prayer dance, action songs, skit and dance based on the theme of the year, a play based on the life of Blessed Carlo Acutis and a mando composed by Fr Tomas Lobo.
The inaugural was symbolized with planting of a sapling at the hands of a catechism child, parent, Parish vicar and Animator Fr Tomas Lobo, Chief guest Romeo Godinho, Director, Catechetical Centre, Old Goa and the Coordinator Ronald Victoria.
FrTomas Lobo welcomed the gathering.Fr Romeo Godinho in his address congratulated the catechetical apostolate for all the activities conducted amidst the pandemic .He advised the catechists ,parents and children to grow and deepen their faith to build a strong community.
The highlight of the day’s event was the release of three publications at the hands of the Chief guest.Mhojea panvllank Divo/Lamp unto my steps, a compilation of prayers written by the catechism children with the assistance of the parents which were written throughout the year based on the’ Thought’ provided on the day’s reading, ’Chirputtam’ a collection of poems and ‘Sorgar jhigjhigtolim noketram’ a book containing articles on the life of 25 saints written by Fr Tomas Lobo were released.
