The Village Panchayat of Cavelossim had on Monday celebrated its Foundation Day with a host of activities and events thought the day.
A morgue and portable toilet has been provided by Ceres hotels Pvt Ltd, Mobor-Cavelossim to the village panchayat under CSR.
Sarpanch Dixon Vaz informed that the beautification of a water pond has been carried out under CSR by genesis auto works Cavelossim, adding that tarring of road was done in Mobor ward as well.
He pointed out that kids have been awarded certificates for attending two months of Summer Dance camp organized by the village panchayat Cavelossim.
“The Village Panchayat Cavelossim handed over a cheque of 1.5 lakhs to Sana Cruz club of Cavelosim towards the football tournament. Today we are pleased that our village will have its own morgue which will benefit the village”, Dixon said.
He added: “Our Anganwadi was operating without a toilet facilities when I visited the anganwadi after getting election. I was shocked to see that the kids used open space for urination. I would like to thank General manager Satish Kumar of Ceres hotels for donating the morgue and portable toilet to the panchayat as it was need of the hour”.
