Political instability has come to haunt the Aquem Baixo village panchayat once again. Days after the opposition group voted out the deputy Sarpanch, five members of the village panchayat have tabled a no confidence motion against the Sarpanch Avinash Sardesai.
The notice was entered in the office of the Salcete Block Development Office on Tuesday with a plea to convene a special meeting of the Panchayat body to discuss the motion.
The Panch members who signed the notice of no confidence motion includes Pradeep Prabhakar Acharya, Milind Bhaskar Salunke, Natasha Lourdes Dias, Inacio Dias and Pooja Pramod Naik.
The five signatories have claimed that the Sarpanch do not take the members into confidence while taking decision and also acts in an authoritative and dictatorial manner. They also charged the Sarpanch for misusing his powers as a Sarpanch.
