With vehicular parking on the Assolna-Cavelossim Bridge raising its ugly head again, Cavelossim Sarpanch Dixon Vaz called on the PI traffic Colva with a plea to patrol the bridge to keep parking at bay.
The Sarpanch drew attention of the Traffic police officials about the recent incident wherein many vehicles were found parked on both sides of the bridge causing inconvenience to the traffic flow and can lead to accidents
“We are constantly calling the police whenever we see parked vehicles on the bridge. The motorists are not following the rules and park their vehicles on the bridge despite installation of no parking sign boards and CCTV cameras”, Dixon said.
He added: “I have suggested to the police inspector, Colva Traffic Cell to intensify patrolling specially on weekends and issue heavy challans to the violators. In future, we will request members of the public to take photos of the vehicle with numbers that are parked on the bridge and challans to be sent to their home address”.
