The Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has extended the last date of paying fees from April 30 to June 30.
“The CCP has an outstanding of Rs 30 crore towards house tax, trade licence, service charges to government buildings, signboards and sanitisation charges with interest,” informed an official of CCP.
Earlier, the last date for paying fees was April 30. The council then took a decision to extend the date to June 30.
"Stringent measures will be taken to recover the dues if the defaulters don't pay the dues after the deadline. The names of defaulters will be published in the media,” said CCP Commissioner Agnelo Fernandes.
“A high interest of penalty will be imposed. We have given a number of opportunities to the defaulters, said the commissioner, adding that the interest will be decided by the council in the meeting.
